Working For A “Horrible” Boss?– It’s Time For Change…..

Friends, it’s once again the day of the week that many people dread….Monday! Why? There are many people that dread Monday because they dread going to the spend the entire day in a place that they hate….their job. What’ making many folks hate their job, working for a horrible boss!

Before I decided to leave Corporate America, I believe I experienced the worst string of horrible bosses known to mankind! Each time I received a new boss, the situation for me became worse and worse.

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want you to think that every person in Management was horrible! Of course not, there were some Leaders, some great Leaders at that, but there were many horrible bosses in Management that had no clue what Leadership meant! And unfortunately, for me I had my fair share of horrible bosses!

Let’s see there was the time that, one of my favorite Managers in the Company received a promotion and he appointed one of my peers as his replacement. I thought it would be a great situation, reporting to a peer, because we all had a great working relationship. But once in Management, my peer turned out to be one of the most condescending, misogynist that I have ever encountered. He was a horrible boss! I’m sure you can imagine how this made me feel. Well, others noticed he was a horrible boss too and the jig was up for him soon after it began.

Then I had a few exceptional Leaders after that, until a reorganization in the Department occurred and I soon found myself working for the Christian that didn’t know Christ, another horrible boss. This gentleman prided himself on his relationship with God, but he was one of the biggest Devils I have ever encountered. He was very threatened by me and my abilities and I had to stay on my tip-toes at all times. Instead of Leading me he constantly looked for ways to trip me up. So I had two jobs when I was working for him, one job was to get my work done, the second job was to make sure I didn’t fall into any holes and pits that this guy was digging for me. I’m sure you can imagine how this made me feel.

After much begging and pleading with upper Management, I was eventually moved from the Devil’s team, to the She-Devil’s team! Friends, I was on a roll for horrible bosses like you wouldn’t believe. The She-Devil, was threatened by me as well and once again, I found myself dealing with having two jobs at work. Avoiding the wrath of the She-Devil while trying to get my actual work completed. During the time I spent on her team, I worked on one of the largest projects of my career. The project was a huge success, but if it were not for my spirit of Excellence it would have surely failed, because the She-Devil, put up every hurdle, obstacle and roadblock that she could to make it a disaster but her efforts were overcome. Another horrible boss! I’m sure you can imagine how this made me feel.

Then last but not least was the insecure boss, if I had to give an award for the most horrible boss of all, this guy would win the award, hands down! What made him such a horrible boss, aside from being insecure he was also incompetent and he knew it. Friends, this guy did everything in his power to break my spirit and he  used psychological harassment tactics to do so. But he couldn’t break me, no matter how hard he tried. I’m sure you can imagine how this made me feel. One day I realized life was too short to work for this guy and I decided to resign. I had complete peace about my decision and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. It was time for a change!

If you have a horrible boss, ask yourself is this the right place for you, or is it time for change, because life is too short to spend all day dealing with a horrible boss! #HorribleBosses #ItsTimeForChange
